Tech Jobs Dominate Top 100

I found some very interesting, but not surprising statistics as a perused the internet in research mode. According to CNNMoney and Payscale.com ranking, twenty-five of the top 100 jobs in the U.S. are in the Information Technology field. The rankings from these two websites use two major factors to set their list: Salary and opportunity for growth.

As expected, number 1 is software architect; closer to the bottom is geographic information systems analyst at number 97. Other industries and job titles on the top 100 range from health care, sales, engineering, product management and financial services. But if you weren’t sure before, there should be little in the way of doubt as to what kinds of jobs are the most lucrative and have the best chance of upward growth: Technology.

Software architect Dan Cervelli who works at Palantir Technologies told  CNNMoney, “I put together apps people actually use. So for me, the greatest joy comes from seeing people use the product in a way that makes their life better or makes it easier for them to do their job.”

Database administrator Lainey Rhodes who works at Raymond James in Florida (company who sponsors the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium) said: “The job is often very challenging in a good way. I’m the type of person who likes to solve puzzles in my spare time. My role at work is very similar. I determine how important pieces of data relate to other important pieces of data, and I have to ensure flexibility and accuracy in whatever I design.”

Here are the job tech jobs that made the  list and their ranking:
