U2 in Miami!
MIAMI GARDENS — U2’s 360 tour arrived at Sun Life stadium. The state-of the art, other-wordly stage was ready Wednesday afternoon. Droves of fans started lining up hours before the show, and the first were allowed to park at the stadium at 4 p.m.
“I am so thrilled to be here! Came from Fort Myers. Oh yeah, this is nothing. I once went to Rome to see U2,” said fan Toni Latino.
The iconic band made good on its word when they promised the show would go on in South Florida.
It was postponed last summer when frontman Bono had to undergo emergency back surgery.
Latino knew the band would return and her tickets would still be good. “Oh I knew they would. I mean, that’s U2. They always make good on their word,” she said. The band has been known to include special guests in their shows. In Seattle, astronaut Mark Kelly made a surprise appearance from space with a message to his wife, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, during her recovery after she was shot in the head.
On a giant screen, he said in a recorded message: “Tell my wife I love her very much.”Fans in South Florida were prepared for anything.”You never know who might show up,” one fan said.
